On the weekends, tight quarters and boisterous crowds can make it difficult to hear your waiter in this lively Latin American restaurant. But the cocktails and food are well worth the clamor. Kick off the night with a sweet-tart combination of lemon, prickly pear puree and rose-infused gin, aptly named the Desert Rose. You’ll find unique twists on traditional dishes, such as the Pizza Cubana with ham, pulled pork, swiss cheese and pickles – a reinterpretation of the classic Cuban sandwich. The starters, like the short rib arepa with pickled jalapeno and the spinach-manchego emapandas, are so tasty you might not even want to move on to the entrees. But if you insist, there’s plenty to try – arroz con pollo, paella with clams, calamari and chorizo, and a suckling pig with yucca puree.
