Savoy’s Peter Hoffman successfully downscales with this rustic, comforting spot that’s perfect for a casual night out. There’s a well-edited beer, wine and cocktail list with some local choices, like Six Point Brownstone and their own house red and white wines, specially bottled in the North Fork of Long Island. The straightforward, perfectly prepared fare features standouts like roasted Brussel sprouts with dried cherry and shallot butter, a grass-fed burger with homemade ketchup, and a juicy, flavorful house-made pork sausage. Most of the seasonally-driven food comes from local farmers and producers. It’s surprisingly large, with two dining rooms and a small bar; or if you’re lucky, you can snag a table in the 40-seat backyard.
