The Dutch have played a significant role in product design for the past decade, making a global impact in terms of influencing many other designers. Leading the way is Droog, the Dutch collective founded by Gijs Bakker and Renny Ramakers in 1993 that has launched the careers of Marcel Wander, Hella Jongerius, Jurgen Bey, Frank Tjepkema and many others. New York Magazine reports that Droog will be opening up a store on February 25th though Droog’s site says 26th. The new location will be on 76 Greene Street.
