Denim Legends, a book published by WeAr Global Magazine, might possibly be the most important book on denim history. Coming in at over 400 pages, the tome starts from the beginning with the oldest pair of jeans in existence, the Levis 1870 jeans, and runs through to the present. It’s all in the details from the buttons and labels to the stitching, as jeans, jackets, vests, overalls, and even dresses are treated like splayed specimens through its photographs. Denim Legends is separated into five periods, 1870 – 1929, 1930 – 1959, 1960 – 1979, 1980 – 1999 and 2000+, and consists of minimal text. Before you head over to Amazon to add a copy to your cart, consider that only 2,500 copies are made with no intentions of it ever being reprinted. That being said, the book comes with a hefty price tag of 890 Euros, approximately $1,200. Though it is almost impossible to justify paying so much for a book, it can be an incredible resource for some professionals. (via Anothersomething)
