Jae Kim, the man behind Ugly Original has been selling his handmade scarves, shorts and t-shirts in various shops including Oak and Cube here in New York. But things have changed. Since June, Kim has switched it up a little, taking his offerings to the streets and selling to passerby from a makeshift bicycle. He’s converted a three wheel bike into a movable shop. Equipped with a light up sign, retractable hangers and hidden compartments that reveal themselves, it’s quite the ingenious invention. The charm comes through in its originality, its playfulness and Kim himself. Decked out in an old school apron, Kim looks as if he’s about to sell you a newspaper.
