Supper clubs, underground restaurants, or anti-restaurants call them what you want, they are breeding all over Manhattan. But a few are taking them upstate, like A Razor, A Shiny Knife. A club that invites guests upstate to not only dine but to get their hands dirty, from stirring the pot and washing dishes to butchering a boar. The Times takes us through several of these anti-restaurants and one upstate one, and reveal that these events aren’t always perfect but give the diners some satisfaction in contributing to a meal.
