Two weeks ago we mentioned that Marilyn and John Neuhart were consigning some valuable materials from the Eames archive through Wright. Now in her 80s, Mrs. Neuhart acknowledges that maintaining the collection had been a difficult task and it was time to pass the responsibilities over to another party. The couple failed to attract any museums with the archive, attributing the lack of interest from low endowments. Enter Wright, the auction house in Chicago. The Eames auction, scheduled for next Thursday, will include 130 other pieces.

The Neuharts are wrapping up their third book about the Eames to be published by Gestalten Verlag in the fall, "a two-volume slipcased set titled “The Story of Eames Furniture.” Really looking forward to that. (via NY Times)
