Unofficially, May is design month in New York. Anchored by ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair), design events and publications try and use this time to promote their wares. New York magazine kicks it off with their annual design issue featuring New York’s finest at home, including David Alhadeff (Future Perfect), Nicola Vassell (Deitch Projects), and Jason Wu.

Meanwhile across the East River, Brooklyn Designs starts this Friday, May 8th. The tradeshow will feature furniture, lighting, and textile designers from the borough. Design events will wrap around the event including Dwell Magazine’s Brooklyn home tour.
