Classic ad from the Naugahyde campaign

Naugahyde, the synthetically fabric made to look and feel like leather, was widely used on many Eames arm shell chairs in the 60s and 70s. To promote its product the company came up with an absurd but endearing campaign giving birth to the mythical creature known as the Nauga Monster. For many years these dolls were highly sought after by collectors, surfacing on ebay and other well known auction houses fetching for a premium. For something more attainable, Naugahyde offers an adoption program for the dolls with the classic design for $39.95.
